چکیده
With the urgency to adapt cities social and ecological pressures, co-design has become essential legitimise transformations by involving citizens other stakeholders in their design processes. Public spaces remain at heart of this transformation due accessibility for capacity accommodate urban functions. However, landscape is a complex task people who are not used it. Visual collaborative methods (VCMs) often facilitate expression ideation early design, offering an arts-based language which actors can communicate. We developed process framework analyse how VCMs contribute collaboration processes throughout three commonly distinguished phases: conceptual, embodiment, detail. participated Atacama Desert Chile, adopting Action Research through Design (ARtD) planning, undertaking reflecting practice. found that useful cycles. Developing an analytical model for the formation of a design scenario in research-based design processes in architecture
Although many attempts have been made in presenting systematic models for design processes, most projects have been implemented by non-systematic methods, which seems that too much emphasis on the description of the final project (product) and the lack of attention to the design process are to be blamed for this. In this paper, a specific pattern of design scenario formation in the framework of...
متن کاملTowards Participatory Action Design Research: Adapting Action Research and Design Science Research Methods for Urban Informatics
This paper proposes a new research method, Participatory Action Design Research (PADR), for studies in the Urban Informatics domain. PADR supports Urban Informatics research in developing new technological means (e.g. using mobile and ubiquitous computing) to resolve contemporary issues or support everyday life in urban environments. The paper discusses the nature, aims and inherent methodologi...

متن کامل(Re)searching through play: play as a framework and methodology for collaborative design processes
This article presents the emergent objects research project Hoverflies – an investigation into hyper-physical interfaces where we explore how the traditional idea of ‘user’ might be supplanted by the notion of the ‘participant-performer’. The concepts of play, composition and embodiment were central to the consideration of design by thinking through performance knowledge. Play frames as articul...
متن کاملAction Design Research - An Integrative Research Method for Studying Design
It is the premise of this position paper that a combination of design research and action research can be very useful for studying high performance designs. However, there has been a separation between the two approaches. A growing body of literature is recognizing these cross fertilization possibilities between AR and DR. Researchers argue for similarity between the two (Järvinen 2007; Lee 200...
